Kolhapur Police Hero: Constable’s 1 km Sprint Through Ganpati Crowd Saves Woman’s Life
Kolhapur Police Hero – In a heartwarming display of dedication and bravery, a police constable from the Maharashtra Police saved the life of a woman who collapsed during the Ganpati Visarjan procession in Kolhapur. The incident, which occurred on Mahadwar Road, highlights the quick thinking and physical endurance of the state’s law enforcement officers during massive public gatherings.
According to official reports shared by the Maharashtra Police on social media, the incident took place amidst the heavy crowds of the Ganpati immersion procession. A woman suddenly fell unconscious after suffering a severe drop in blood pressure, exacerbated by the intense crowding and suffocation (stampede-like conditions) on Mahadwar Road.
The Quick Response
Seeing the woman in critical condition, Constable Kamanna Kamble, a jawan attached to the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group 16, did not hesitate for a moment. Realizing that an ambulance would never make it through the dense, chaotic procession in time, Constable Kamble took matters into his own hands.
Without waiting for assistance, he physically carved a path through the massive crowd. He then ran approximately one kilometer while carrying the unconscious woman through the congested streets.
